SIA and Madrid City Council protect the Spanish capital from cyber-attacks

The city council has deployed our advanced cyber threat detection and response service on its IT infrastructure to optimise the protection of its internal systems and users, digital public services and citizens' data.
With this project, the entity aims to guarantee the security and high availability of municipal and city services, and to facilitate their operation and functioning; in addition to protecting the data of people who live, work, visit or invest in Madrid, and their digital rights.
This proactive defence model provides, in addition to adequate detection and response, a set of additional practices and services to obtain an integrated vision and achieve an optimal level of protection, covering the entire cybersecurity lifecycle. In addition, the service includes specialised management of the professionals who provide it, optimisation of information processing and AI-based automation that improves the predictability of cybercrime.
The initiative is completed with GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) services and a plan to raise awareness of threats, risks and vulnerabilities to generate a culture of cybersecurity.
Main benefits:
- The service, part of the city's Strategic Cybersecurity Plan, allows the city to take a leap in maturity in cybersecurity management and optimise its resilience.

- Directly: the seven areas of government of the capital, the five autonomous bodies, 27,000 internal employees and 3,000 external employees.
- Indirectly: around three and a half million registered inhabitants, five million citizens and ten million tourists.
