• The Basque Country chapter of SIA CyberHub will be presented tomorrow in Bilbao, with the support of the Centre for Industrial Cybersecurity (CCI), and will focus mainly on the current challenges of industrial and operational cybersecurity (OT), environments very present in the area.

 

Madrid, 17 February 2025.- SIA, the Indra Group company specialising in cybersecurity, has created and launched SIA CyberHub, a collaborative ecosystem designed to promote the evolution and innovation in cybersecurity in different regions of Spain, which will adapt its activity to the main demands that the organisations and main entities or agents of the territory currently have in this field.

 

According to Roberto Espina, CEO of SIA, ‘as the largest Spanish company specialising in cybersecurity, creating these spaces for participation and joint work beyond the activity itself is for us an imperative in the fight against cybercrime, since the really effective way to move forward is by sharing information and working as a team; our commitment in this regard is firm’.

 

The first step of this think tank will be the presentation of its Basque Country chapter at the BAT Tower in Bilbao with the support of the Centre for Industrial Cybersecurity (CCI), where industrial and operational organisations from the region and nearby areas, and other stakeholders will join this meeting to address the current challenges of cybersecurity in these environments. Regulatory compliance, risk management and the protection of the supply chain will be some of the points that participants will address at the event, ‘key issues to adequately protect the operation, costs and reputation in this area,’ adds Espina. SIA has a specialised team and a comprehensive offer in this field to accompany organisations on their path towards the paradigm of an operationally protected organisation.

 

SIA CyberHub will thus constitute a recurring meeting point for its members in each region, with the aim of identifying the greatest cybersecurity challenges they face, and establishing a collaborative workspace to respond to these challenges, through research, design and joint development of innovative solutions or their continuous improvement.

 

The initiative will bring together entities and agents that contribute knowledge and value in the resolution of current and future cybersecurity challenges: public and private organisations, driving companies, technology centres, cybersecurity experts, manufacturers, start-ups and research groups in this field. It will soon be extended to other regions of the country and will invite all local actors involved in the protection of cyberspace to join in order to strengthen the response to cyberthreats.

 

SIA's commitment to the Basque Country is reflected not only in the launch of the first CyberHub chapter in the region, but also in the company's recent expansion of local service, technical and team capabilities at its Bilbao headquarters.
